Portsmouth, UK , November 2025 – BAR Technologies has been awarded the Exceptional Innovation Impact Award at the Marine Innovation Week Awards, held during the fourth annual Marine Innovation Week and hosted by the 2050 Maritime Innovation Hub. The award recognises UK-led innovation delivering meaningful, measurable impact across the maritime sector, and celebrates the real-world performance of BAR Technologies’ WindWings® wind propulsion technology.
The award highlights innovations that demonstrate tangible environmental and commercial benefits, and recognises WindWings® as a technology already delivering emissions reductions and fuel savings in operational service. Vessels equipped with WindWings® are actively reducing fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions, reinforcing wind propulsion as a scalable and commercially viable pathway towards zero-emission shipping.
The award was presented by Keir Mather MP, Minister for Aviation, Maritime and Decarbonisation, at the BT Tower in London, and was accepted on behalf of BAR Technologies by Lauren Eatwell, Head of WindWings®.
The award further strengthens BAR Technologies’ position as a leader in wind-assisted propulsion and sustainable maritime innovation, building on its expanding portfolio of WindWings® installations across the global fleet.
